About Music City Diner

Welcome!  I’m Donna and this blog is all about sharing my love of good food with others.

In October 2010, I was single and was lucky enough to find an extraordinary man online. I’ll admit it … I stalked him and he was the perfect catch.  Joe is a self-admitted redneck renaissance man … a Yankee turned Southerner, who traveled a lot of the world while in the service of various government agencies.  He is fabulous in the kitchen, the wine cellar (a huge advocate of the wine classes hosted at Sunset Grill and a long time volunteer for L’ Et Du Vin) and he is a lover of food and fortunately me!

When I began my love affair with Joe, I also unintentionally began a love affair with food – the appreciation of it, the adventure of finding it in Nashville, my hometown, and wherever our travels take us, the wonder of Joe’s culinary efforts on my behalf and also the fun of making some great culinary strides of my own.  So my life now is full of love for Joe and food and my war with butter and the scale.

I don’t purport to be an expert about food.  I’m a little bit of a picky eater and I approach things from a regular consumer point of view.  What I really like to find is amazing food at a price that is within the budget of people just like me… the ever-shrinking middle class of America.

Music City Diner is about sharing good recipes, lovely times spent over food, the joy of preparing it, fun kitchen tools, the discovery of awesome recipes and sometimes not so awesome recipes, and a little diary of great meals that Joe and I share at local and distant locations.  Between the two of us, Joe and I own a massive amount of cook books, cooking utensils and six dogs.  Life is good.  Bon appetite!
